I have not updated in sooo long, but I’ll just go ahead and attribute that to the fact that I have been busy getting ready for Atlanta! I’m so excited about moving into my new condo with the puppy. It’s going to be different living by myself, but I’m ready for that change. The Circus starts on Monday and I still have to move, paint the place, and get the floors done! Not to mention, I have to buy school supplies now and find a job. We just officially closed on our offer today so I’ll be moving in tomorrow, bright and early.
I can’t wait to start this new era in my life. It’s going to be completely different, but in a good way. I do already miss college though! Anyway, I still have a few small things to pack before I leave. Wish me luck!

I have had my puppy, Bowser, for 2 weeks now and today he just turned 8 weeks old. I love him so much! He is the sweetest thing and is so loyal to me already. The house training is going well and he loves eating. The major problem I’m facing is his chewing people’s hands and feet. I’ve heard so many different ways to correct him from biting people but none of them really work. I hope its just a teething phase…but I can’t be too sure. Any advice?
I’ve also heard that great danes need to be neutered only around a year old and no earlier, but I can see that this might be a problem since I’ll be taking him to school with other dogs around. Anyway, so far he’s been a blessing and like my child. He requires so much attention, but its all worth it completely.

I just got back from Bonnaroo yesterday and boy was it a blast! We got there really early, but ended up getting a bad camping spot that was really far away from Centeroo where all the bands play. So, we had to walk about 40 minutes to get there and another 40 minutes to get back. My legs are killing me! But in the end it was all worth it because the music is amazing and for the ticket cost, you really get your money’s worth.
This was my second year attending Bonnaroo and I just love the atmosphere over there. Everyone at the festival is so nice and friendly. Plus, all the bands were amazing. Some of my favorite performances were The Mars Volta, Phish, NIN, and the Beastie Boys. Mars Volta was probably my favorite because everyone was so pumped and I was right near the front. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Phish because I was never really that much into them before.
Despite the initial downpour of rain on Thursday (I got soaked) and the resulting mud from the rain the rest of the weekend, the trip was great. Yes, it was really hot. Yes, you feel filthy afterwards. Yes, it was exhausting. And I don’t suggest going unless you don’t mind walking a whole lot. But if you love music as much as I do, it’s definitely worth it.
Here was the lineup:

Recently, I’ve become obsessed again with reading. I’ve always loved to read, but up until a few months ago didn’t have much time for it. So now I’m attempting to read Time Magazine’s All-Time 100 Novels from 1923-Present. I’m not really giving myself a time frame in which to finish the books, I’m mainly doing it so that I can read some quality literature and get accustomed to new writers. So far, I have read two books from the list (recently, not including those I’ve already read):

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguru

The Assistant by Bernard Malamud
I’m currently reading A Handful of Dust and so far I like it. I’m enjoying all of these books immensely. I’m glad I get the opportunity to read for leisure.

Since I’m going again to Bonnaroo this year, I thought it would be a good idea to prep by creating some tie dye wear. So, I went to Joann’s and bought some dye and transformed a few of my old white shirts. It didn’t take long (though you do have to wait about 6 hours for it to dry before opening them out). I used the easy squirt bottles by the Tulip brand. It came in a kit with red, yellow, and blue. Primary colors are great because I ended up mixing them to form other colors as well. Plus, the kit came with two pairs of gloves and rubber bands and was on clearance for $2.97! You can’t beat that price! Now all I have to do is find some skirts. What do you think of my finished products?

I have officially put down the deposit for my new puppy! And…he’s a great dane, EXACTLY what I wanted!! He’s just so adorable. He is almost 3 weeks old now, so he will be ready to be taken home at the end of this month. I can’t wait. I’ve wanted a puppy my whole life and now I finally get the one of my dreams
. What can I say, I love big dogs. I named him Bowser because I felt that’s a cute and appropriate name for him. He’s the best graduation gift ever! Isn’t he adorable?!

The other day I visited the library to check out a few books. I figure that since I don’t have school for the next few days I may I well catch up on some leisure reading. One of the books I checked out was Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. The book was so good, I finished it within two days!
The story is about an old man thinking about the days in his past as part of a traveling circus during the Great Depression. I don’t really want to give much more of the plot away but the book combines elements of friendship, betrayal, and love. Gruen makes you feel connected to the characters and you will find yourself amused and shocked by the events that transpire.
All I can say is, if you love a great book about animals, love, and circuses, you will appreciate this book. I’m definitely going to read her other books sometime in the near future. Let me know if you enjoy Gruen’s book as much as I did!

This was probably the best spring break ever! I went on a Carnival cruise to Key West and Cozumel and it was so much fun! The ship was Carnival Imagination and it was beautiful. It had a pool, a few hot tubs, a casino, a cigar lounge, and dance club…and so much more. The food was amazing too. I seriously ate way too much.
We stopped at Key West first and basically explored the area. It was St. Patrick’s Day so that was fun! It’s a real pretty place and has a great atmosphere.
Our second stop was at Cozumel and that was a blast. We took a tour to see a small Mayan ruin, then went to the beach, and then to a local tequila factory. The beaches there were gorgeous, plus we got to sample the tequila!

Overall it was a great deal and I really got my money’s worth.
